Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten tweeted this morning that Koos Moerenhout will be the new directeur sportif of the Rabobank women's team. Earlier this fall, Rabobank announced that Jeroen Blijlevens would be joining the men's elite team along with Eric van den Boom. Now, the Rabobank women (including cycling superstar Marianne Vos) will be led by former two-time Dutch champion Moerenhout as well as Ruud Verhagen.

Rabosport.nl reports that Marianne Vos is happy with the arrival of Moerenhout and Verhagen, who together bring a "synergy" of Moerenhout's practical first-hand experience as well as Verhagen's coaching skills.

Both directeurs are excited to be given an all-star team that has won just about anything there is to win in women's cycling, and while it is still too early to set goals for the coming season, Moerenhout did state that the World Cup team time trial will be a "logical" goal.

"It feels like a great challenge to work at the women's team with the best of the world, like Marianne Vos and Annemiek van Vleuten," stated Moerenhout in a press release. "Even if they are world top riders, I wasn't finished learning as a 35-year-old rider either. I hope I'm able to teach them a lot."
