Something awesome for your coffeetable (aka, I'm writing a book)
Well, when I say I'm writing a book... Balint Hamvas (aka, cyclephotos) is compiling all his best pictures of the 2011-2012 cyclocross season in a book again, and this year, I'm writing the texts to accompany his shots.
If you wanna take a look (or if you just wanna go ahead and pre-order one, that's ok too) go to: cyclephotos.co.uk/book/

I’m pretty much convinced that you’re all batshit insane there. ~gavia~
I know, right?
I wouldn’t be doing this if the dude’s pictures weren’t crazy awesome. In my humble opinion.
They are super good, my favourite cycling photographer out there
so paired with my favourite CX writer, this counts as an essential purchase for me!
Hey, gs, can you do a competition to win a copy of the book here? And will you two do any signed copies, pretty please?

One to read and not worry about, one to keep on my shelf and admire!
Although I’m flattered by your assumption I’d automatically win!

Well, the competition would either be
“who can cheer the loudest” or “who can queue the best”, so you’ve got a decent shot.
I am usually more pushy, but I was SO TIRED!
Heh, you saw my most demure side, Jens saw my ability to be all elbows-out, jostling with vikings for space at the fence!

Um...I would like to sign up for the Sharp Elbows contest,
if it means winning your book. Can’t wait.
All I've had today is, like, six gummy bears and some scotch.
+1
Very nice action shot. Did he dug himself into the sand with the camera?
Looks like he was shooting over the top of a hill as the rider neared the bottom.

it's the least you could do for pdc members
either way, looks like a cool book. can’t wait to read it. hopefully fmk will do a review of it/you.
"Ants don’t worry, they operate like a fantastic team, they accept obstacles and deal with them in a positive manner, they don’t complain and remain positive. An ant doesn’t work on emotion, is proactive and always chooses the ant role."
A review of me?
Only positive things to say in that case, surely? ;)

If sales go well, are there plans to release an audiobook version
in which you describe the pictures?
I can’t justify it in terms of profitability, but I reckon it’d be cool.
I'm not mean, I'm just drawn that way.
Why stop with audio. Upon opening the binding/container, sand should spray out to give a total sensory experience.
For an extra cost, special editions could sling mud.
(and more seriously, thanks for checking on shipping)
How much would it cost for the beer edition?
"Englutch, the official language of the Podium Cafe (from January to April)" -Chris Fontecchio
That edition would be an instant sell out in the following countries:

By the way, did y’all see this?
That article must be Northern Hemisphere only
There’s clearly some kind of bias in it.

How about this
You all post a picture of yourself with the book, and the best entry gets to pick a chapter which I’ll then read and record.
good idea
i have experience with that exact thing too. high school teacher had us do that with our calculus books over spring break. that was the last time she gave students that assignment.
