I've been having problems with muscle soreness/tightness in my upper back and neck when I ride for more than about an hour. I've read in Pruitt's book about cycling related medial issues, and I'm going to have a proper bike fit on Friday with a local physio who comes highly recommended. I'm also wondering if part of the issue is with the shoulder straps on my bib shorts (PdC bibs and others). I'm tall with a bit (ok, a lot) of a belly, so the straps are stretched pretty tight and by the end of a ride I can definitely feel them pulling down on my shoulders.
Has anyone lengthened their straps before? If so, what seemed to work the best? I'm envisioning splicing some elastic in somehow (hopefully my wife can do the sewing as I am really poor at that stuff).
