A buddy of mine in Paris travels a good bit for work and is also a very good cyclist. He's looking to buy a foldy that will allow him to ride 'sportively' when he's on the road (i.e. get in a good workout). Is there any such beast out there? Specs below.

-Full sized (26 or 700 wheels) -mid range price (<$1200) -general use racing bike would be my first choice (e.g. a foldie version of the bianchi at yours)
