Just as in 2012 Orica-AIS opened the European season with a big win. Cromwell outsprinted Megan Guarnier of Rabobank- Liv/Giant to take the biggest win of her career. Emma Johansson completed the success for Orica,taking third from the sprint behind the two escapees.

It's freezing in Flanders, doubtless raining, sleeting and maybe even snowing.... so you can bet that the hard-women of the peloton are rubbing their hands with glee, and looking forward to getting onto the cobbles. The UCI season may have started in the deserts of Qatar, but this is the European season opener - bring it on!

Glory, glory hallelujah! It's Omloop Het Niuwsblad-week everyone. The weekend brings the start of classics season with the Omloop on Saturday and the red-headed stepchild Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne on Sunday. Truly there is no more highly anticipated weekend of racing in the entire year.
