The final round of the 2013/14 Track World Cup starts today, and we're back in Mexico. It's interesting, and a bit worrying - a few years ago we had 5 rounds of the TWC, nicely spaced all over the world - but then it was down to 4, and this season, to 3, with two in the same country. Really, the UCI needs to have a look at why the track side of the programme is shrinking so fast - is it to do with the whacking great fees they charge to put on events? But damn, we track fans should also be thanking Mexico big time, as they seem to be propping up the sport, hosting a round in Aguascalientes as part of the 2012-13 season, the 2013 Pan-American Champs, two rounds in the 2013-14 Cup, and putting on the 2014 Para-cycling Track World Champs, the first UCI track Para-Cycling event since early 2012.
But enough politics, on with the racing!
I can't find any livestreams for the Friday and Saturday sessions, but there will be a stream for Sunday, on the UCI Youtube
This will be a mix of live racing with highlights of the competition so far - and once the competition is over, it will stay there as an archive, so if you can't watch it live, you can watch later. It starts at 11:30pm UK time (6:30pm USA EST; 00:30 CET & 10:30am Aus AEDT both on Monday 20th Jan) and if you hit play before then, there’ll be a countdown to the start, so you can work it out in your timezone.
As always, let's chat in the comments and share any links and things we see - and if you're new to track, or have questions, ask there and the Café track fans will be happy to help!
