Pompeiana and circumstance: Italians nix extra MSR climb

Bryn Lennon

After a whole lot of will-they-won't-they the Italians decided to go back to old habits, that is, an MSR without the Pompeiana climb. The proposed hill was set between the Cipressa and the Poggio and pretty much killed the chances of the sprinter folks. Sprinter folks didn't like that.

The road got damaged over winter, and there's not enough time to repair it, the organisation says.

We discussed the changes here, so if you want more info you can revisit.

And this is how the course will look now. A return to the course before the introduction of Le Manie. So instead of killing the sprinters they will instead have an even greater chance than in the last few years.
