Firstly, I stole the idea from Planetf1.com.
On the otherhand they've been begging for it from their potshots at each other from their previous team. We just saw PG win a classic, a (maybe) foreshadowing early success, while GVA just started his off-season.
Pro-PG: one win, season goals just getting started, and with 400+ VDS pts already.
Pro-GVA: one 2nd in a classic, one 2nd in the Belgian world championships. 600+ pts already. Likely to ride Giro?
Who is the better Belgian on BMC? I started writing this post thinking how can I put down PG, but, I did a complete 180 (cliche 1) and saw the light (cliche 2). The Brabantse Arrow win is very impressive, he grabbed the race by the reigns (cliche 3), yanked it towards him by attacking/chasing the break at the expense of a lot of energy. Yet he was banking on winning the sprint still (against Bling no less), which shows immense confidence in his abilities. He put the pedal to the metal (cliche 4) at the right moment and the finish came right in the nick of time (cliche 5), diagonal path towards the line notwithstanding.
He won't Rebellin the next two weeks, lightning only strikes once (cliche 6), but he will win one, and be a protagonist in the others.
Suck it GVA, you and your 2 pts extra costs in FSA PDCVDS.
