Le Touquet Paris Plage - Villeneuve d'Ascq (Lille) 163.5 km
Can you say transition-stage anyone? Getting from point A to point B, which is the stage 5 cobbles ,while keeping the sprinters as happy as possible.
Marcel Kittel of the Day: Marcel Kittel
There are lots of good contenders but Marcel Kittel really loks the best bet to Marcel Kittel the hell out of this stage. He's far and above the most Kittelish in this field and his Marcelling isn't half bad either.
Amy's Wine of the day: Cuvee des Jacobins rouge and Monk’s Cafe Flemish Sour Ale
Ah, yes, the inevitable beer stage. This year two, because the helpful folks at City Beer Store suggested it. K seeing them in the glass "Is that soda?" No, OK, but they do look almost like root beer.
Monk's Cafe is smooth and fruity with cherry notes. To my beer-novice self, sour is not a word I would use to describe it. This is one I would return to.
Cuvee des Jacobins is really sour, bitter even. Sharp is a word that come to mind. Also, cherries and vanilla.I sense that the Monk's Cafe may be the intro and this the master class.
