t/m Aussie Cycle Works Assassin Pro Series 7.2

You’re looking at the best frame I’ve ridden in 30 years. There's a more detailed review coming in the February issue of The Racing Post, but here are some pictures of this Houston-built, Aussie-htfu inspired and built sledge-scalpel. Retail for the frame is $2250.

The rest of the build included SRAM Force22 parts and ENVE bars, seatpost, 2.0 fork and a sweet ACW titanium stem. I used ENVE Smart 6.7 wheels.

This was supposed to be a test-frame--meaning I'd ride it for a month or so, write up the review, then box it up and return it. Except. Well. It's just too good a frame and bike. So I bought it. Which means now I have to ship an empty Tri-All-3 flight case back to Tony in Houston.

The ride. Remember, I’m riding my wheels, my tires, my saddle, and my roads, the roads on which I know the location of every pot-hole and settling-crack. If there’s a difference in ride quality on those roads with that set-up, it’s coming from the frame. There’s a huge, noticeable, worth-the-money difference in quickness of handling and stiffness combined with that legendary Titanium plushness to produce a ride the likes of which I’ve never experienced in one frame.

There's some voodoo-design going on with some really subtle tube-shaping--at least that's what I think causes the incredible combination of super-quick handling and chip-seal cushioning.

.

The top-tube cable-routing is smart and gives the derailleur cables a much more logical path, especially the rear-derailleur cable, which Tony routes internally through the drive-side seat-stay.
