Landis-Gate Drawing to a Close?
Everyone's reporting that a decision is due in his Tour debacle in late September, which means that by next spring Landis should either be cleared to ride or moving on to his next career (assuming an appeal to the CAS). Over a year later, it's hard to get interested again, but I suppose this case will be watched closely by the lawyers for Kashechkin, Vino, Mayo and other recent perps. Probably the most interested parties will be the Kazakh cycling federation who have already declared Vino's innocence... assuming there's such a thing as precedence, even mere de facto precedence.

Cycling v. Swimming
What's the same as in cycling: The positive test was leaked by L'Equipe.
What's different than cycling: No quote from Dick Pound saying Thorpe's still guilty no matter what his country's anti-doping agency says.
In reading the articles about Thorpe I can across this:
"Thorpe's outspoken condemnation of doping in sport had sometimes landed him in hot water and he was once reprimanded by swimming's world governing body when he suggested it was unlikely the sport was completely clean."
So swimming's governing body says the sport is completely clean? They have to be kidding.

"Slippery" Dick Pound was a swimmer,
In a few months Dick(Head) Pound will be stepping down and a new, french, person will head the agency.
