Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

How's that gonna look in Argyle?

Congratulations to David Millar, yer new British Road Race champion!!

The one-line diary demon decided that there needed to be more comment than that, so here it is: can Millar's slipstream Brit. champion jersey possibly be any uglier than the monstrosity of a Belgian championship jersey that Discovery have inflicted upon Stijn Devolder?

Can't get
any worse. Besides, the diagonals on the Union Jack kinda match the argyle, right? Or is it just the Cross of St. James?

St George, sir, St George!
dear me, these Americans.
And they still think the War of Independence was a good idea! ;-)

Oh wait a minute
is it really British champion, not English? I thought there was at least a  separate Scottish champ? And the other Milleerr wore it many years ago?
If not then I suppose its the Union Jack. I seem to remember it being reduced to red white and blue colour bands in the past (Roger Hammond on Disco?) so I imagine you could have a three colour argyle pattern . . .

He deserved his win, after all his attacking in the TDF.

Since I got it wrong anyway
- and even if I hadn't, no apology needed! The maintenance of a sense of humour is the one of this boards nicest features/customs, unlike some of the squabbles over at DPF for instance.

On a different subject, have you (anybody?)heard anything about whether or not the Deutschland tour will be on CTV?

I haven't
gotten a note in my email yet, which is usually what happens. Of course, that note could come in around stage 2 so I'd pop over to the site and see if they've got any updates.

Will they stay argyle
even if Slipstream is no longer the main sponsor?

Millar
on his team kit for next year with Slipstream, he replied "god knows what they'll do to this - they might manage to turn this into some form of argyle."

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
