Amstel Gold Race... LIVE!!

Ardennes Week starts now! I'm pretty partial to the cobbles and all, but one thing you don't get in Flanders to the extent you get in the Ardennes are fantastic finishes. AGR isn't likely to be won on a long escape... maybe a sorta long escape, but more likely there'll still be plenty of drama left when they hit the Cauberg.

The official list of climbs is worth keeping track of if you can have a third window open. Cycling.TV kicks off at 5am Pacific, so sign in at 4:45. See you then!

Even if
I'm not actually EGoat, I am consoled by the fact that I don't have to get up till 8am to watch AGR.  Much more civilized.

See y'all in the morning!

It's just around the next bend. Really.

Unfortantely
I think it's right. Sporza reports: Ricco is te honly rider how hasn't start. He has fever and stayed in Italy

And
if anyone here is still pining for the hardships of Paris-Roubaix, then watch out for coverage of today's other big race in France the Tro-Bro Leon in Brittany. More info at the official site, a truly horrendous place to visit where everything comes as jpg images four times the size of your screen. Finding the magnify button on your browser helps. The regional version of France 3 is a sponsor so there will be footage around.

5 am?
Probably still an hour to go before CTV cranks it up.

I continue to be mathematically challenged
when it comes to simple subtraction for time zone purposes.  But I like to to think it's due to a combination of pre-race excitement and pre-race "Will cycling.tv work today?" angst....

Good Morning
By now I would've thought Rebecca would be on chatting away. I guess we'll know in the next 1/2 hour. :-)

Can I note this morning that skunks suck! Both my girls got nailed at 12:30 last night. Luckily not straight on so my tried and true recipe saved them quickly and the inside of my house but the odor outside still just reaks.

drop me an email
And I'll send it over. I'm on my way out for a ride in a few but will get it to you. I've used it for the past few years and it does the job. Way better than the sick and nasty tomato bath people still thinks does anything other than provide a tomato skunked dog.

I'm happy
I'm happy that Paul thinks last year's race was good for Schumacher.  Great insight.

Paul is gutted
Hi Ursula,
You're so funny, do you have your own TV show?!

Looking forward to reading your insights into the racing over the next few hours

Lots of love

the trick.

No worries connecting, and here are Anthony and Brian and the cyclists.

Morning all.

There
is also some sort of live coverage on the official site complete with GPS tracking of the riders. I tried it earlier but it never seemed to do anything for me, although that may be due to the paranoid settings I have on my browser.

are never paranoid if they are following you.

In his final days, Hemingway's associates thought he was having paranoid delusions that the FBI was tapping his phone. Years later, of course, the FBI's records showed that they were tapping his phone.

Putsep

More realistically...

Cunego
Valverde
Dekker

That's Michael Barry.
Nice to see him at the front, too.  I wonder if he's going to get his chance at the Tour this year?  I know he's done the Giro a lot, and was even on Salvodelli's team in '05, but I'm sure he'd love to do the Tour.

Nog 80km.
Gap 5:55.  11 climbs to go.  Very skinny, twisting roads, strining the peloton out into a long, long line.  Not too many Astanii sightings today.

Nice jump by Ryder onto the front
of the peloton, from the bike path running parallel to the road.  Freaked out that Lampre rider a little bit!  Barry looks very serious up there.  HUGE crowds at the bottom of the Cauberg, Nog 75km.
