Things are underway this morning in the ToC "Queen Stage"... begging the question, what exactly does that term mean? I've always assumed from context that it refers to the biggest thigh-melter, but I can't tell if that designation really applies here, considering tomorrow's climbs dwarf those on the Coast Highway. Today is the longest day in the saddle, and everyone thinks it will be a beautiful, signature scene, but nobody thinks the GC will be at issue.
Of course, everyone thinks the race for the overall is done. CSC posted Riis' white flag on their fan site. Discovery's site is a little less coy, suggesting the game is still on for Friday. IMHO Riis is thinking the same thing...
