So I just got my bike overhauled, including switching to 175mm cranks. And the question I have, after about 50 miles, is, what exactly is the difference I'm supposed to notice?
Actually, that sounds like the skeptical voice, but in fact I could swear that since I got on this bike I've picked up about 2mph, and my tendency is to attribute it all to the new equipment, especially the longer cranks. Now, in a calmer moment, I can see that any improvement could be attributed to any of the following, in order of likelihood: great weather, gel shots, lack of fenders, divine intervention, improved fitness.
Still, I wonder, can someone explain to me what might be the benefit of longer crank arms?
