So many race reports, so little time...

  • Vino has all but wrapped up the title at Castilla y Leon, finishing third behind Marco Fertonani and Triki Beltran on the queen stage and staying 19 seconds clear of Chechu Rubiera, his nearest non-teammate on GC. Tomorrow is flat, so GC is over. Nice win by Vino and Liberty, but Discovery did well too, putting Rubiera (3d), Martinez, Azevedo and Brajkovic in the top 10, taking control in the team classification (I know, I know), and taking the mountains jersey (Beltran).
  • Speaking of big names in smaller races, Damiano Cunego bagged a stage and the GC lead at the Coppi e Bartali today, winning a small bunch sprint after a long break. He's only got two seconds in hand on yesterday's winner, Vincenzo Nibali, setting up a Lampre-Liquigas showdown in tomorrow's finale.
  • For all the crap I give VeloNews, today they get back to what they do best: covering domestic racing. Get your Redlands preview here.
