The business end of the TdS hits today as the riders drag themselves over the 18 km hors categoire (beyond category) Albulapass. On the stage profile it looks like a monster. The 10 km (or so) downhill may limit the losses of anyone chasing the lead riders, but then nobody seems too worried about the overall lead right now. This is the first test of the climbing legs of guys like Ullrich, for example, and further tests will come in the next two days as well... though as I've opined before, none of the next stages finish uphill. Ultimately the final day time trial (!) should sort things out... to the extent you care who wins.
By the way, it's 58 degrees here in Seattle at ten minutes after 6.
