Today it's 176km from Malaga to Cordoba, a nice little ride with some notable climbing in the first 40km, but a fast ride after that, making it the first of some 35 sprinters' stages in this year's Vuelta. OK, that number may be high, but by all accounts this isn't the hardest parcours, at least compared to the suffer-fests in Italy and France. And while perhaps it's not wise to read too much into that, in the long run beating the drug problem will requre keeping a lid on the degrees of difficulty in the three-week races. Spain, bitten once, may be at least twice shy.
Anyhow, they start unusually early today, according to Cycling.tv, so I'll try to make the finish at least. Have at it.
