CSC Gives Sastre the Reins

CN caught up with Carlos Sastre and got the lowdown on the hardest working man in Cycling's calendar for 2007. With Basso gone and confusion about roles thoroughly settled, Sastre takes on the legitimate Tour de France GC threat status within the CSC juggernaut.

OK, so he blew on the final ITT last year, and he had the full team support from Black Friday onward, so why should this year be different? Well, if nothing else, he should show up in peak form:

"The plan is that I will do a Spanish programme during March and April and then at the end of that month, I will go to Belgium for Flèche-Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, then ride the Tour of Romandie. After that, I will have a small break and then start my preparation for the Tour de France by doing the Tour of Switzerland. The Tour [de France] is my big goal for the season."

So how about that time trialling form??
