CN has the startlist for today's Pro Tour/Grand Tour demolition derby... the usual moronic suspects, plus Patrick Lefevre and 19 other team reps glaring at them til they start negotiating in good faith to put aside their respective concerns and save the Cycling season. I can't do the conversion from 2pm local time, but if the meeting isn't over already, then something serious is happening. Probably worth checking the Euro media... I just looked on L'Equipe, whom I'd think would have something posted quickly if there was news, but nuthin doing.
Latest twist is that the CPA, the riders' union, is sitting back and watching, issuing an ominous statement that depending on what happens, they plan to meet tomorrow to do whatever is necessary.
If anyone sees smoke from the tower, let us know ASAP.
Update [2007-3-5 17:11:19 by chris]: From this L'Equipe blurb, they're hammering away this evening at the Brussels Airport. My French is pretty bad, so see what you think of this:
Les deux parties ont visiblement l'intention d'aboutir à un accord car la réunion s'éternisait ce lundi soir. La conciliation a débuté peu avant 14h00 locales et n'était toujours pas terminée à 20h00. Cette tentative de conciliation avait été provoquée vendredi par l'Association des équipes cyclistes du ProTour (IPCT).
