I often wonder what it will take before Pat McQuaid has his own sitcom. Surely he's thought of that, it's the only explanation for stuff like this:
Laugh track... NOW!
Recall, here's the provision of the peace deal that McQuaid thinks might give him leverage:
You could drive a truck through that loophole, except the provision doesn't have enough substance to sustain one. It says they will be kind when looking at Unibet's application. Right before throwing it in the trash. No sane person could read some sort of contractual obligation into such language, let alone someone who was in the room listening as they hammered out the words. Yet cRaZy Pat thinks it's time to lawyer up because Unibet didn't get to ride Tirreno-Adriatico (Unibet was also threatened with exclusion from Gent-Wevelgem due to Belgium's national gambling law til the race organizers relented).
The peace deal was always a band-aid, meant to stem the bleeding until after the Giro di Lombardia, but even that temporary show of good will is too much for cRaZy Pat to bear. Is there any way we can fire this guy? Now, I mean? Today? Before he starts threatening teams who intend to ride in the Tour de France?
