You want some of this?! It is SO game on today. This is the equivalent of last year's fight up to Pla-de-Beret, a tough if not totally deadly stage bookended by hard days but not uphill finishes. In that sense, Stage 8 is the middle leg of a tough stretch but by far the best place to make attacks, especially where tomorrow is a rest day. Last year's Pla-de-Beret stage saw a few contenders together, and a few others losing 1.30 or so. Expect nobody to lose the Tour entirely tomorrow (save perhaps for people who are nursing injuries, but don't quote me on that either). However, we should have a nice pecking order established, and we should see some real GC action, at long last.
