CyclingFever's startlist is getting near completion. Honestly, I'm not sure how, since the Amgen site doesn't have anything. But information has been trickling in from the teams, so perhaps this is the product of some fine stitching.
Anyway, the highlights:
Sprint battles are probably where it's going to be at, which is fine for a race that tends to reach its summit a good 50 miles from the line each day. So your world class sprinters include Gerald Ciolek, Tom Boonen, Fabian Wegmann, Heinrich Haussler, Paolo Bettini, Mark Cavendish, Oscar Freire, Fast Freddy Rodriguez, JJ Haedo, and Ivan Dominguez.
As for the GC, picking a winner is all about reading guys' motivational levels, not an easy trick this time of year. So while the following list includes riders who could make a run at the line if they decided, it's probably a good 50% too long: Janez Brajkovic, Levi Leipheimer, Ben Jacques-Mayne, Thomas Voeckler, Davide Rebellin, Stefan Schumacher, Phil Zajicek, George Hincapie, Kim Kirchen, Robert Gesink, Bobby Julich, and my pick for the win, Jens! Voigt.
Not to be missed for other reasons: U25 hopeful Dimitri Champion; stage hunter Chris Horner; time trial aces Fabian Cancellara, Dave Zabriskie, Gustav Larson (and maybe David Millar?), and others. Stay tuned to Cycling Fever or the ToC Official Site for additions and subtractions.
