Today's press reports the not-totally unexpected news that Linus Gerdemann will not start this year's Tour. Gerdemann crashed badly at Tirreno-Adriatico in March, fracturing his left femur and injuring a ligament in his knee. A recent examination at the university clinic in Hamburg revealed that his knee injury, in particular, had not healed sufficiently to return to racing. As a result, Gerdemann will not start the Tour de France or the Olympic Games, and as of now, he hopes to make the start of the Deutschland Tour in August.
