This is interesting. Today's stage is another fairly flat one; most likely ending in a bunch sprint. But as we saw yesterday, there's a twist with this year's Dauphine bunch sprints. The twist is this: there's only one true sprinter team present, Quickstep with Tom Boonen, so they have almost all of the responsibility to chase down the breaks and control the race. This is hard for one team to do and we saw yesterday that it tuckered out the team. They were able to catch David Millar but Boonen had to go on his own from way out to do so, leaving the door open for sprinting legends Angelo Furlan and Marcus Zberg to pip him at the line. Will it happen again on this
the day of your daughter's wedding the last sprinters day of the Dauphine?
Weather: There's a 50% chance of thunderstorms today.
Making this non-sprinter scenario a tad more likely is the course. Sure its pretty flat but still it's got 4 cat 4 humps to um hump over. No, I'm too lazy to provide the profile. Cycling Fans and Steephill each have one for ya. There will be profiles galore in a couple of days. Watch this space!
