Renovating the Pont Gibus sector..... €500,000

Watching Paris-Roubaix.................... Priceless

According to Cyclismag.fr, the Mayor of Wallers estimates a price tag of €500,000 to renovate the cobbles at Pont Gibus, the secteur that follows the Trouée d'Arenberg. The race has not included the Pont Gibus since 2009. In 2006, the renovation of the Arenberg secteur cost €250,000. The Pont Gibus secteur will require 700 new pavés to make it passable. All this, for a bike race. Beautiful, isn't it?
