The Vuelta fast approaches Madrid and this stage runs west to east from Piedrahita to Toledo. The profile shows early climbing followed by a long downhill run to the finish. A short climb pops up inside 20 kilometers to go, then it's a flat run-in to the finish. Perhaps with the aim of saving the best of last, the Vuelta organizers have made this stage 19 the longest day of the race. It's 231.2 scumptious kilometers from Piedrahita to Toledo. The length and the early climbing points toward the survival of the breakaway. Look for an early escape to go on the opening climb, the general classification teams to save their legs for the final mountain stage, and some small group bike play on the run-in to Toledo.
