Come Chat!
Meet Julian Kyer. Julian raced this season for Trek-Livestrong and is one of the teeming horde of talented U23s joining the sport here in the United States. Okay, so we're not exactly on level with Belgium or the Netherlands, but compared to the recent past, the current U23 ranks in the U.S. are definitely growing. And everyone knows more bike racing is better.
Julian came to cycling from mountain biking and alpine skiing. Ask him about the day he dropped his dad climbing on the mountain bike. Over @juliankyer, he describes his life as a full-time cyclist: "I parade around in stretchy pants for a living." His first major result came on the track when he won the national title in the U23 Pursuit. This season, he finished fifth at the U23 road race and sixth at the U23 time trial. His most recent race was the Tour of Utah, where team-mate Taylor Phinney wore the leader's jersey for a day, and Julian also rode the Cascade Classic with team-mate and new National Champion Ben King. Want to study up on more facts and figures? Head over the Trek-Livestrong webby.
Julian will be here at the Cafe on Wednesday 22 September at 1.00pm Cali time/4.00pm East Coast. Stop by and ask him about his stretchy pants. You can also ask him about bike racing. If you are new to the Cafe, you'll need to grab a username to join the chat.
See you there!
