Daniele Pietropolli got the chance to show off his new Lampre kit today. Now with more Pink! The 30 year old Italian won the first stage of the Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria. Pietropolli outsprinted Fabio Taborre and José Serpa on the uphill run-in for the stage victory. He also holds the leaders and mountains jerseys. Damiano Caruso of Liquigas is currently leading the young riders classification and Vitaly Kondrut leads the points. The three stage race runs through Sunday. Matteo Montaguti won last year's edition, and Pietropolli won the overall in 2008. Steephill has some fab photos from today's stage.
