Last week, we watched Daniele Pietropolli win the first race of the Italian season in Reggio Calabria. This week, it's France's turn to get going with the bike racing. Yesterday, Français des Jeux sprinter Yauheni Hutarovich celebrated his first victory of the season. He beat out Anthony Ravard of AG2R-La Mondiale and Björn Leukemans of Vacansoleil for the stage win. Sadly, Hutarovich suffered a mechanical problem in the final 2 kilometers of today's stage and could not repeat yesterday's success. Instead, it was AG2R-La Mondiale's day to shine at l'Etoile des Bessèges. Lloyd Mondory won the sprint ahead of his team-mate Ravard and Aldo Ino Ilesic of Team Type 1. Thanks to his consistent riding over the past two days, Ravard has taken over the race lead after picking up a time bonus at the finish. Full results.
