Counting down to the Giro!

Valerio Agnoli has a short diary from the Giro del Trentino over on the Liquigas-Cannondale webby. As you probably remember, Agnoli is one of the climby dudes who sets up Nibali and Basso. We always talk about Giro del Trentino as a training race for the Giro d'Italia. For the Italian teams like Liquigas-Cannondale, it's so on.

According to Agnoli, the team did a double day on Tuesday. They rode 80 kilometers together on their time trial bikes. The goal? To prepare for the team time trial during the Giro d'Italia. Then, the team headed to the Giro del Trentino, and rode the 14 kilometer opening crono between Riva del Garda and Arco. (For those of you keeping score at home, Andreas Klöden won the day.) Agnoli reports that he comes to the Giro del Trentino after fifteen days of hard training in Etna, a session that included Vincenzo Nibali. "From today, we all pedal together toward a single objective," writes Agnoli. The Giro countdown clock is on!
