Sunday 15th May
The French Women’s Cup (CDF) today reaches the fourth round with the GP Fémin'Ain d'Izernore, a slightly hilly circuit race through Izernore and Samognat at the foothills of the Rhone Alps. It’s a straightforward course, 14km long which is ridden 7 times for a total race length of 98km.
Apart from Rosane Kirch and Svetlana Pauliukaite of Colavita Forno d’Asolo, the field is completely French, so fans of Christine Majerus and the Bravard sisters, Charlotte and Melanie of GSD Gestion, Edwige Pitel and Julie Beveridge at Vienne Futuroscope, and Melodie Lesueur of Gervais Lille should be looking for some consolation for not having picked Ina Teutenberg instead.
If you visit the race website you can download the handbook, check the start list and if you have half an hour or so free watch a video of the course (if it doesn’t come up then download it directly here ).Even better, the organisers have set up a dedicated Twitter account, @ACFAin and have already been giving live updates, photos and video from this morning’s junior race.
