TourChampion: Desert Deadly Squirrels sneak away with the win

In real life, this Tour de France was plenty exciting. But nothing, nothing could come close to the TourChampion version. Before the ITT, we had two teams separated by one second: Reeppp's Lobster Liberation Front and mbflyhigh's Cloudbase or bust.

Come the time trial though, a new leader pulled a Cadel and jumped into the first spot with an excellent performance. The Lobsters and the Cloudbases both counted on Andy, Samu and TiVo for the race against the clock, but Abievegas' Desert Deadly Squirrels had Evans, De Gendt and Péraud; which allowed them to make up no less than 3 minutes and 20 seconds on the penultimate raceday

So, which team did Aubievegas select?

Evans was his A-guy, and picking the race winner is never a bad idea. His superdomestiques were Samu Sanchez - an obvious pick if ever there was one - and Voeckler, who had the ride of his life this summer. In the sprinter and ITT-dominated C-category he went for Cancellara, strongest in that category by far but ultimately not much help; Tejay, who didn't contribute all that much; and Hushovd, a genius choice which got him nearly six minutes in the stage to Lourdes and another four and a half in the stage to Gap. Finally, for D-riders Aubievegas went for Rojas, not much help; De Gendt, who helped nail the final time-trial; and Péraud, a great back up for the mountains.

The Lobsters shouldn't worry too much though, cause their team of Hushovd, Rojas, Voeckler, Andy, Cav, Samu, Devenyns, Ale-Jet and Feillu got them green. Jonny_Red's Team Tomatoes for Tondo did their namesake proud by getting the KoM with Andy, Duque, Samu, Hesj, Intxausti (DNF), Rolland, Boom (DNF), De Gendt and Morabito.
