BMC Racing Team, now with more SMASH! According to a press release issued today, World Champion Thor Hushovd will ride for the BMC Racing Team through 2014. Hushovd recently won two stages of the Tour de France and wore the Yellow Jersey for seven days, while racing for his current team Garmin-Cervélo. He is also a past Green Jersey winner at the Tour, and has won stages in nearly every appearance at the French grand tour.
But the Norwegian dreams of a Paris-Roubaix cobble, a prize that has so far eluded him. "My biggest goal is still to win Paris-Roubaix. The BMC Racing Team has good riders to support me or for me to help someone else on the team win," said Hushovd in today's press release. The addition of Hushovd should make BMC a formidable team for the classics, as already the team includes Manuel Quinziato, George Hincapie, and Greg van Avermaet.
