What season is it?
Well, in Flanders, beer and lion caps are never out of season. So I ask again... what season is it?
Oh, right. Cyclocross season. Ronse is home to the Hotondberg, Flanders' best impression of a mountain.
As we all know, mountaineering can be dangerous. Klaas Vantournout takes a wee detour:
Conditions weren't horrendous but there were plenty of ways to trash yourself on the slippery hillside.
New Zealander Alexander Revell has wowed the CX circuit with his whiskers. Sporza has quite a collection of stories about his moustache.
Germany's Phillip Walsleben, 9th on the day:
Local vet Bart Aernouts, fourth behind the Bigs
The New Kid, Lars van der Haar:
Rob Peeters, en route to 10th place:
Klaas Vantornout, upright again:
Tom Meeussen, digging deep:
Bart Wellens, back to his old self:
Nys, the old Master:
Kevin Pauwels, with his chase-face on:
and the winner, world champion Niels Albert:
