"It will be cleaned in time," are the exact words from race director Jean-Francois Pescheux, a funny way of describing the most recognizable and typically unrideable cobblestones of the Queen of the Classics. I mean, where does moss land on the list of problems with riding through a strip of stones that look like they were dropped from a helicopter?
