Another Win for Evie Stevens

Happy_evie_medium

You all know by now that Evie Stevens won last week's Flèche Wallonne. I mean, you do, right? You haven't been stuck in a cave or under a rock all this time, I'm hoping.

Today, Stevens followed up last week's big result by taking the stage victory at Gracia Orlová. Stevens also now wears the jersey of race leader, which she took off her Specialized-lululemon team-mate and prologue-winner Ellen van Dijk. In a press release comment, Stevens credited her team-mates Ally Stacher and Katie Colclough with doing killer work on the front all day.

"They worked like dogs," said Evie. "It was amazing. We went into the race in the perfect position and it all went to plan. Except at the end I wanted to try to lead out Trixi but I think I got a little over-excited and jumped too hard. I'll have to make up for that.

Stevens romped up the steep, one kilometer finishing climb. The final 150 meters were raced on the cobbles. Sharon Laws of AA Drink finished second on the stage. The Gracia Orlová continues tomorrow with a time trial, which should suit Stevens.

You can find full stage results on the Gracia Orlová site.
