2 Roger De Vlaeminck vs. 3 Johan Museeuw

Roger De Vlaeminck

Cobbled Credentials Again Please?

The other "Mr Paris-Roubaix" owns four titles in the Hell of the North, as well as one Tour of Flanders -- in 1977, shortly after taking second in MSR. He has nine podium finishes in Roubaix. Also won two Omloops, an E3 and a Scheldeprijs. In 69 classics (cobbles and otherwise), he finished in the top five 32 times.

Tournament Mojo

Crushed Gaston Rebry after taking out Raymond Impanis in the first round. Then ate another cobblestone for breakfast.

Johan Museeuw

Cobbled Credentials Again Please?

A true Lion of Flanders resume, with three wins each in Paris-Roubaix and Flanders. A total of 14 podiums between the two races. He also won E3 twice and the Omloop once, as well as several KBKs, Dwars, etc.

Tournament Mojo

Briefly sweated out a matchup with popular Flandrien Peter Van Petegem, showing that palmares still trump popularity and magic beards. Walter Godefroot was his first round victim.
