Belgium knows how to put on a bike race

While most of us have our eyes fixed firmly on Italy, Belgium once again proves why they win cycling.

The Tour of Belgium isn't the most prestigious race on the calendar. Basically it's an opportunity for the classics dudes to get back in the game and start gearing up for summer after a well deserved down-time.  Stage one was a sprinters affair where the most remarkable event was old top sprinter Tom Boonen participating in and winning a bunch-sprint over top names like Greipel and Bos (well, top-ish....). The reason is clear to see in the picture above. Now that's a real cycling prize. Forget cheeses, bathroom faucets and vacuumcleaners. This is how it's done.
