Rainbow dream for Pauline!
With everyone's eyes on Vos, Armitstead and Johansson it was the most improved rider of the season, frenchwoman Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, who continued her golden season by clinching the Rainbow jersey in a sprint-finish. TT gold-winner Lisa Brennauer finished like a bolt of lightning to take silver ahead of a disappointed Emma Johansson in third.

Rabo vs lulu for Worlds Supremacy
First event out of the gate at Worlds, the Women's Team timetrial, might be one of the most hotly contested races as well. At least it is the one with the most clear-cut rivalry. The dominants of the past years Specialized-lululemon will be trying to hold of the challenge of a Rabo/Liv team that has dedicated much of their season to ousting the Spec-lulus from the TTT-throne. On Sunday we will see if they can.

The Vuelta is over, the Tour of Britain is over, the Canadian races are done and dusted, all the roads of preparation for the Worlds are now converging on Ponferrada , Spain. And we're starting to get a sense of who the contenders are.
