Lots of nominations for this one, and I've got a blurb on them all, for your voting guide. Remember, "best race day" means whatever the hell you think it means -- most exciting, most surprising, most dramatic, most confirming of how great cycling is, whatever. Feel free to debate what it should mean if you want, but ultimately everyone gets to vote their conscience.

Part 1: The One Day Races

Strade Bianche

Winner: Fabian Cancellara

Notable elements: One last win for the Swiss Bear, and in incredible style, as he survives a group of Zdenek Stybar, Peter Sagan and Gianluca Brambilla.

Video: Final 48km here. I considered embedding videos for all the races but I dunno, that might not load very cleanly.

Ronde van Vlaanderen

Winner: Peter Sagan

Notable elements: Winning alone in the rainbow jersey? That enough for ya? OK, then how about the part where he drops Cancellara and goes solo?

Winner: Matt Hayman

Notable elements: Boonen on the warpath, but falls just short of historic win. Hayman a deserving first time winner. Lots of thrills and spills, as always.

Part 2: The Stage Races

Paris-Nice Stage 7

Winner: Tim Wellens

Notable elements: Alberto Contador attacks, reeled in by Sky, then attacks again on the final climb. Geraint Thomas is left behind as Contador becomes the overall leader on the road, but picks up some assistance on the final descent and recovers enough of his gap to hang on and win the race by four seconds.
