Movistar's Nairo Quintana took control of the Tour de Romandie today with a victory in the first uphill stage, but not before his primary combatant Ilnur Zakarin of Katusha tried to close the door on him in the sprint. Quintana is now the overall leader by 18 seconds on Zakarin.
