Giro Donne

Stage 10: Abano Terme - Padova 90.5 km

Short sprint stage to finish the race off. Theoretically the third spot on the podium is still in play, with Longo Borghini 49 seconds behind Garcia, but it’s a hard ask to do anything about it on a profile like this.

Expected finish: 14:10 - 14:25 CEST

Final donna of the race : Elisa Balsamo

Fastest in the race for sure.

Welcome to the real Italy, suddenly we get the classic hilly terrain.

Expected finish: 15:10 - 15:35 CEST

Young talent of the Day : Marianne Vos

Hard hilly day, complex final with a bit of uphill, a Vos on form. Feels like this is a no-brainer.

Stage 3: Dorgali - Olbia 113.4 km

Lots of chances for chances early here and judging by day one we could see more tight finishes.

Expected finish: 15:05 - 15:25 CEST

Sardine of the Day : Elisa Balsamo

After getting a first taste I think she might only get better.

Stage 2: Villasimius - Tortoli 106.5 km

Relatively straightforward sprinter stage, time to see who brought the fast legs. Almost all the bigs with the exception of the Great White Shark, Lorena Wiebes, are here.

Expected finish: 15:15 - 15:35 CEST

Velocista of the Day : Elisa Balsamo

Stacked field with perhaps Kopecky, Norsgaard and Bastianelli the main rivals? Other hitters like Vos, Consonni, Copponi and Wiebes understudy, the super fast Charlotte Kool. should factor too.

Super short TTs are notoriously hard to guess but Kirchmann usually pops up when I’ve forgotten about her and I had this time until I checked the start list.
