Glorious day on the Paterberg (Women's race) and Oude Kwaremont (Men's race)
A lovely day in Lille and a coronation of two great champions.
If you wanted to stand by the road at Sunday's Ronde van Vlaanderen and still understand the race, the Oude Kwaremont was the place to be. Our man Patrick Verhoest was there.
Ask Patrick for great photos, and you shall receive.
Colorful images from a colorful day
Time to roll out the new team, kit and so forth in another Gent Velodrome gathering.
It was a nasty wet day in the Tour de Romandie as the riders tackled four first category climb on the biggest mountain day. The Giro d'Italia riders we were keeping an eye on all took a backseat on the stage, all finishing outside the top 10. Rafal Majka was the best placed, two minutes behind the winner and new leader Simon Spilak.
Sometimes we see supersprints that herald the arrival of a great new sprinters. A few years ago a sprint win right here in Tirreno was the start point for a few seasons of top results for Tyler Farrar. Today it was IAM Cycling's Matteo Pelucchi who came from "nowhere" to come around bigshots like Greipel and Sagan to win his first Tirreno stage.
To be clear: Balint is definitely definitely the photographer of the Cyclephotos book duo. But I do own a camera, and sometimes when I press the shutter button it does what I want. And sometimes I get lucky. So... pictures!
