It was a nasty wet day in the Tour de Romandie as the riders tackled four first category climb on the biggest mountain day. The Giro d'Italia riders we were keeping an eye on all took a backseat on the stage, all finishing outside the top 10. Rafal Majka was the best placed, two minutes behind the winner and new leader Simon Spilak.

A few years ago a sprint win right here in Tirreno was the start point for a few seasons of top results for Tyler Farrar. Today it was IAM Cycling's Matteo Pelucchi who came from "nowhere" to come around bigshots like Greipel and Sagan to win his first Tirreno stage.
